Cinema Treasures was founded in Egypt in 2016 by renowned film critic, historian, and author Sameh Fathi, following years of dedicated research and writing on Egyptian cinema. He has authored several books documenting its rich history, many of which have been translated into English by the American University in Cairo.
Driven by a deep passion for cinematic heritage, Fathi established Cinema Treasures with a clear mission: to recover, restore, preserve, and celebrate classic Egyptian films, presenting them as closely as possible to the original artistic vision of their directors and filmmakers.
The company offers a carefully curated collection from the golden age of Egyptian cinema, featuring legendary stars such as Faten Hamama, Omar Sharif, Farid Shawqi, Hind Rostom, Shoukry Sarhan, Ahmed Ramzy, Nour El Sherif, Mervat Amin, and Adel Adham.
Working with major rights holders and professional restoration facilities, Cinema Treasures presents these timeless films in premium DVD and Blu-ray editions, with selected releases featuring English and French subtitles, making Egyptian cinema accessible to collectors, film enthusiasts, researchers, and international audiences.
